Workflow automation and practical AI

RURU DIGITAL
Joining the dots

I connect the tools your business already uses. That cuts repetitive work and brings in practical AI where it earns its place — without turning your business upside down.

What I do

Less busywork.
More time for what matters.

  • 01

    Join your tools together

The apps you already pay for should talk to each other. I connect them so information moves on its own — no more copying the same detail from your inbox to a spreadsheet to your invoicing.

I work with tools including Xero, Microsoft 365, MYOB, Google Workspace, Slack, Stripe, HubSpot, and payroll platforms such as Employment Hero, Smartly, PaySauce and iPayroll.

  • 02

    Build workflow automations

I find the repetitive jobs eating your week and set up reliable automations to handle them quietly, in the background, the same way every time.

I work with modern workflow tools such as n8n to connect the services you use and make routine work flow more smoothly.

  • 03

Use AI where it actually helps

AI is useful in specific places, not everywhere. I bring it in where it saves real time — drafting replies, summarising, sorting and organising — and leave it out where it does not.

It supports your people; it does not replace them.

Who I work with

Built for the work
behind the work.

I start with practical operators who need less admin, not another complicated system.

How it works

Understand first.
Then simplify.

We start with the everyday work that is slowing things down, then find the simplest way to make it easier.

  1. 01

    A conversation

Free, 60 minutes, and no prep needed. We talk about how your business actually runs and where the friction is.

  2. 02

    A clear plan

I map the tools and steps you rely on, then recommend a few practical improvements in plain English.

  3. 03

    Set up at your pace

I build with you, not around you, so you stay in control. Ongoing support is available where needed.

About RURU

Hi, I'm Ricky.
Here to make things simpler.

I'm the person behind RURU: a Senior Software Engineer with an Automation and AI focus. RURU is where I bring that work to businesses — without the complexity.

I started RURU after seeing small businesses lose hours to manual work that software could handle in seconds, while vendors sold them complicated systems they did not need. My approach is the opposite: understand the problem first, use the tools you already have, and only add what earns its place.

I'm based in Cambridge, Waikato, and work with businesses across New Zealand.

What changes

More time.
Fewer loose ends.

Good workflow automations give you more than efficiency. They make the important things easier to see, easier to run, and easier to trust.

  • Your week stops being eaten by repetitive tasks, leaving more room for the work that matters.

More timeFor the things only you can do
  • Information moves when it should, so handoffs stop being a headache.

Smoother daysFrom one task to the next
  • The important steps keep moving, without relying on someone to remember every detail.

    Fewer things missedWith reliable workflows

Questions people usually ask

Straight answers.

I'm not very techy — is this for me?

That's exactly who this is for. You do not need to understand the plumbing; that's my job. You'll understand what it does and why — nothing more than you want to.

Will AI replace my staff?

No. I use AI to take tedious work off your team, not to replace the people who make your business what it is.

Is this going to be expensive or disruptive?

We start small and only do what's worth doing. No surprises — an agreed quote before any work starts.

What if something breaks later?

I offer ongoing support where it makes sense for the work, with a minimum three-month support period for projects that need it.

Do I have to switch tools?

Usually not. I work with the tools you already use wherever I can, and only add something new when it earns its place.
